Who We Are

A Mission-Driven Non-Profit

The Treasure Valley Down Syndrome Association is made up of parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, friends, and volunteers who share one commonality – love for someone with Down syndrome. Where other people see differences, we see joy, kindness, and wisdom. We see a person who has blessed us by being in our lives.

We seek to provide reassurance to new parents about tomorrow, to help celebrate today, and to teach and inspire – all while learning more about ourselves. We also work to create awareness around Down syndrome, so the whole community will accept and recognize the greatness we see in our loved ones.

About Us

What we do in the community

TVDSA is passionate about promoting an understanding and supportive environment. We want everyone to know that people with Down syndrome have wonderful talents and attributes just like everyone else. In addition, we want all parents to have what they need to help their child with Down syndrome reach their full potential. We provide support and education through programs, events, reading materials, and more.

In an effort to stay informed about all things Down syndrome, we also have relationships with local and national organizations like the Special Olympics, Idaho Infant-Toddler Program, National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC), and National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS).

01.

Programs: Our member-only flagship programs are volunteer-managed clubs that provide an opportunity for recreation and networking. Our age-specific programs let children and adults (who happen to have Down syndrome!) meet their peers and connect through social and learning activities. Our family-support programs let mothers & fathers come together to share insight and experiences.
